So why put it on a blog?
Because I need a place where I can be 100% truly myself no matter what.
And friends and relatives won't see (or know it's me).
But YOU will see, whoever YOU are. So I'm not all alone, as in a diary...
Oh God help me. I'm admitting it all on these pages as always.
As I delve in. To the SHIT I've literally been putting off for months
may I say that:
1. MA is facing dreaded tasks daily.
Because of her declining health,
she must get out of that big house so she can move into a place where the things that are so hard for her now are done FOR her.
But to do that, she has to get through tons and mounds and tons and moungs of 40 years of stuff.
And
she does what she can EVERY day.
So far no help. Doesn't want any.
***If she can do that, because in her words, "I have to get rid of this house," then I can do this, because in my words here and now, "I HAVE TO have a home. Particularly the one I've been paying for for almost 3 decades. My teeny little house that needs work. But I have lived both ways here, and clean and in order is about 50 tons better than filthy and smelly and dark and broken things I COULD get fixed if I'd just get off my ass.
and
Last year, about a week before I'm doing this now (good - I didn't say TRYING to do), M had to set up her whole new (rented) little house in a week. She did it. And has paid off painter and handyman. Did kitchen etc. I helped. Je helped. mother helped. D helped. She took help as needed. Since then, lovely home. (But she does keep up daily, AND have help).
2. Every time do a little something, might make it easier to keep going. As I'm finding today.
Back to work.
--Break to say:
If I am the best I can be,
and that means looks and health and job and play AND HOME
I will be better able to attract someone
and better able alone anyway.
Ok back to work again.
Bread to say
--My doctor felt 2 weks ago (he missed last week) that maybe I let all this happen - the filth and falling behind and being overwhelmed.... because my mother always got the MOST attention when pathetic and needy and even ill. and desperate. AND THAT I DON'T NEED TO BE! That those who love and like me, do so because of my assets not my weaknesses.
--And *I* think that staying under the cloud keeps me from having to face my own inner loneliness. Well it doesn't work, but in a way gives me something to always worry about....
AND I am noticing that when I am busy - cleaning even, or practicing of course, ... I am not obsessing.
And it feels good to move.
This is what Kayleigh meant in part, I think.
Ok back to work again.
--Break to say -
These little writing breaks are helping me get and keep going!
Ma - my mother's aide = yet more inspiration. That place was disgusitng. My mother ALWYAS puts everything way. But it was dirty because she tried but couldn;t REALLY clean correctly anymore, and it was stuffy and smelly, and sheets weren't kept up with (laundry). And I saw all that right before her last hospitalization. And the girls - Ma in particular really all her now, have that place immaculate! It smells fresh and clean and aired out eat all times. (not chemically, just clean). The drinking glasses squeak. Bathtub, towels, everything. New things for bed, clothes, sneakers, everything.
If that could be done there, it can be done here.
O, from Russia, also has always had great work ethic. Always neat and almost always clean everything in her place. Even when terrible problems.
And no help.
And on the other hand, is M, who has someone else do it. (But of course she'll empty dishwasher, wash pots when does cook, clean counters, do laundry in between etc. because someone is there about half the week. But a weekly or bi-weekly cleaning lady might not be out of the question for me either....
Hope. There is hope.
back in again... I'm even getting hope for how I can live when the place is clean! Like my iPad and Nook in one place... my few plants doing well...
--
1:31
O is moving right now. And believe me, her busband’s place, into which she is moving, has boxes etc. BEFORE her move. Granted her mom is helping, but still.
I am sure when she is finished it will look and feel like a home. And a clean one, his 2-bedroom apartment.
*I * can do this
1:55
Anyway, it uses calories to clean
I am determined that either I will get a cleaning woman
Or pretend I did, do it myself, and put that money away for future!
Or both
Like one time a month c.l.
One time a mont I do it
And so it gets done twice a month, but 3x a month I can put away as if she came
Omg I feel like one of those people from the Hoarders shows. Truth – it’s not like that, but I’ve begn to believe that maybe it could be. If I don’t get to it now.
And so I say, with shame, but openly, that unlike the past MONTHS
I can eat at the table tonight if I have to.
And – I DO have to.
Just because I’m not comfortable all alone and eating “mindfully” yet, that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t do what I can.
So I shall eat at the table even if with a magazine or book. Is fine.
And about a million times better than eating with tv, slouched in the dark filthy den on the couch.
Okay.
Sigh.
There.
Good.
Sometning
3:02
I have finished today’s worth.
And the house is airing out.
And I took a bath and am sitting in a skirt and top
Will see therapist.
Then will empty dishwasher and refill it. Yes there was that much.
I have had a good healthy breadkfast and lunch
And will have a good healthy dinner too.
I have had spinach so far today
And will have broccoli later
Thank you, God

Self-Honesty
I have all the conditions for happiness.
I have live, health, friends, my mother, good health care, a rewarding job, a home, birdies, enough money to live. I have Je and Ji who are like nieces to me.
I have had romantic love for most of my adult life.
I have a license, a car, trees, safety.
Beaches and pools and park nearby.
I can walk, and talk, and see.
Actually, much MORE than the conditions needed for happiness.
I have been on four retreats with Thich Nhat Hanh, am Reiki Level II, have 3 degrees, only one of which I had to pay for, play classical piano, and own a lovely upright Petrof piano which I paid for.
I have a cute enough fact, a curvy body, great hair, and access to the best foods and water. Also access to help with my compulsive eating disorder, like OA etc.
I fall.
Perhaps because of childhood damage, i don't believe in myself or whatever.
But greens -
there is no way to describe this so that an "outsider" could really believe it unless they've seen it. But they are medicine to me.
Without them, I fall. Fast. And hard.
With them, I come back. Quickly.
I MUST eat greens.
I MUST eat greens.
And believe.
And keep doing the gratitudes.
And yes. Sometimes I still have to pretend J will come back and love me and be with me again. To get through.
But then I see Randy Travis (we used to listen to him, and we saw him in concert), in the hospital in critical condition at age 54, J's age, and I think: I WANT J. to go for the happiness. WHEREVER he finds it.
And I too.
I fell today, but I did some good things. And I didn't give up. And I am better tonight than I could have been.
And I actually feel a bit better just writing this.
And that's all the truth.

My 100 Gratitudes Today
I am grateful:
1. Yitzhak Perlman, the great violinist, was playing in New York. Yitzhak Perlman was crippled by polio as a young child, so the bottom part of his body doesn't work well and he wears these very prominent leg braces and comes on in crutches, in a very painful, slow way, hauling himself across the stage. Then he sits down and, very carefully, unbuckles the leg braces and lays them down, puts down his crutches, and then picks up his violin. So, this night the audience had watched him slowly, painfully, walk across the stage; and he began to play. And, suddenly, there was a loud noise in the hall that signaled that one of his four strings on his violin had just snapped.
Everyone expected that they would be watching Yitzhak Perlman put back the leg braces, walk slowly across the stage, and find a new violin. But this is what happened. Yitzhak Perlman closed his eyes for a moment. Yitzhak Perlman paused. And then he signaled for the conductor to begin again. And he began from where they had left off. And here's the description of his playing, from Jack Riemer in the Houston Chronicle:
"He played with such passion, and such power, and such purity, as people had never heard before. Of course, everyone knew that it was impossible to play this symphonic work with three strings. I know that. You know that. But that night, Yitzhak Perlman did not know that. You could see him modulating, changing, recomposing the piece in his head. At one point, it sounded like he was de-tuning the strings to get new sounds from them that they had never made before. When he finished, there was an awe-filed silence in the room. And then people rose and cheered. Everyone was screaming and cheering and doing everything we could to show how much we appreciated what he had just done. He smiled. He wiped the sweat from his brow. He raised his bow to us. And then he said, not boastfully, but in a quiet and pensive and reverent tone,
"'You know, sometimes it is the artist's task to find out how much music you can still make with what you have left.'"
Sometimes, it is our task to find out how much music we can make with what we have left. What is the name that is big enough to hold your fearlessness, that is big enough to call you into fearlessness? That is big enough to break your heart? To allow you to open to the suffering that is this world right now and to not become immobilized by fear and to not become immobilized by comfort? What is the way in which you can hold your work so that you do feel free from hope.... and therefore free from fear?

I could really care for myself
Then 1. I'd be okay. And might be able to have a good relationship.
And 2. I'd be okay if I didn't.
3. I'd just be ok
4. And better than ok
5. I'd feel better about myself
Will continue doing the things...

Dear God
Please give me strength.
I know the things I have to do.
And I know how fortunate I am.
Thank you for my having learned of the practice of 100 gratitudes a day.
Thank you that I am doing it.
May I today, just do those things I have dreaded and put off for so many months - one day's worth - and do it with grace, dignity, gratitude, and cheer.
Thank you.
And please, please help the 12 year-old boy who was hit by lightning.
And D's and A's faith.
And all those suffering atrocities of assault from without or within.
May we restore mother earth to the garden you gave us.
Amen.

50. I had a really bad week. Broken friendship with O. I think irreparable. She is who she is. And J. may have tricked me a little. May have. And may not. But it made me realize. I have no one I can fully trust. Mother is decrepitating. Forgetting… MA is ill. M is – well – I’m not sure of her forever. I have seen her very close to others before and where it went. J. left me. Every decision I made since 1986 I made as if we were together. And he left. So even marriage isn’t for sure til death in every case. So in a very real way, I am alone. But the gratitude is that - I have survived tragedies in my life, real ones, things I haven’t written on my blog, and I have bounced back. And this morning, I DECIDED. I will again. I will make my life better than it’s ever been. And I ACCEPTED that this is the hand I’ve been dealt right now. I had something to do with it too. But in any event it is what it is. I can only be miserable or happy. I AM CHANGING THINGS. I WILL – not fight – but win – by gentling myself out of this. With all the hard work it takes. And I WILL ENJOY something each day too.
