I Was Wrong - But It'll Be Okay - Update on L. PART II

I didn't feel right. But we went and did some fun stuff. And I thought, "I've been paranoid. This is better to get the tension out by having fun together." Then we went for a drink before dinner. We both (neither of us having alcohol issues) had a little buzz. Nice time. We went to the dinner place. While waiting 15 - 20 minutes for the table, I said (over and over), "Ok. This is it. You can have amnesty. But ONLY if you tell me now. Because something is askew." EVENTUALLY he said, "So here it is. E. came back from Ohio. And she called me and said she had ticket -" "No"- said I - "You're buzzed and confused. That was V. So he tells me the whole story about the ticket. And he finishes (same story he'd already told me before today), and I said, "Ok. Thank you. But *I* was not referring to V. and the tickets=. I was referring to E. and the card." "E. called from NY, having just gotten back from Ohio, and said she had ticket -" "-L! I'm talking about the one with the card! Not the one with the ticket!" L, sort of gulping: "E. WAS the one with the tickets." "TicketS?" "Yes." "You went WITH her?" "Yes." "And dinner?? "Yes." "Who paid?" "Well, she'd paid for the tickets, so I paid for dinner." "So you went on a date with someone else for your birthday." "It wasn't a date! It was a free ticket to row E of a major Broadway show! And I do NOT feel that way about her!" "But she obviously does about you. So you lied to me. Repeatedly. And you used her." "I did feel bad about her." Of course I'm switching some of the order by accident - just so tired - and I DID give the amnesty but this all happened later. Long story. More later. Just so tired now. More tomorrow. Promise.
