The Magic Aug 31

Aug. 31

Uh oh forgot today to do. Thought did. Very stressful day. Is ok. Will do now! : )

These are among the very first words of the book, The Magic, and I love them:

"Remember when you were a child and you looked at life in total wonder and awe? Life was magical and exciting, and the smallest things were utterly thrilling to you. You were fascinated by the frost on the grass, a butterfly flittering through the air, or any strange leaf or rock on the ground."
Now:
Count your blessings. Make a list of ten blessings. Write why you’re grateful. Reread your list, and at the end of each blessing say thank you, thank you, thank you, and feel as grateful for that blessing as you can.

I am truly blessed to have f ound new book to read so and reading some sitting up on laptop or hard book: one fitness PUSH: 30 Days to Turbocharge, The Magic still sometimes lol, Shanghai Girls for my book group, and now Gone Girl because wanted a psychological thriller. And on Nook in bed, Queen Victoria by Matthew Dennison. And a few lined up! Life of Pi, etc. And in paper I am reading No Time to Lose by Pema Chodron and the new, hardcover, The Romanov Sisters. This is very very lucky all of it!
Because I have SO MUCH TO READ! YAY LUCKY ME!
Thank you thank you thank you!

I am so happy and grateful for taking my mother and Ma out for Indian/Pakistani food lunch today
Because it was good to get her out and she was excited.
And she liked the food!
Thank you thank you thank you!

I am truly grateful for honest talks with A.
Because I do NOT NOT NOT like the change and am a little bit heartbroken, but the fact is we were able to have it, AND I am ok! That is HUGE!
Thank you thank you thank you!

With all my heart, thank you for J. telling my mother, “Lynn and I went out to lunch together.”
Because that is a big opening. He has NOT wanted her to know when we’re together up til now…
Hopeful.
Thank you thank you thank you!

I am truly blessed to be tightening up and building muscle.
Because I am stronger and I’m also losing inches!
And – the exercise is getting a bit easier (not easy, just less hard) and when it is time I will do fewer modifications still, and then more reps, and then heavier dumbbells.
I am now, a lifetime exerciser! And THRILLED about it!
Thank you thank you thank you!

I am so happy and grateful for Shakeology
Because it really makes me feel good, and beautifully flavors 2 veggies and a fruit (or 1 veg and 2 fruits…) for me! And is so healthy! SO grateful I have worked and still work hard enough to afford it!
Thank you thank you thank you!

I am truly grateful for not being incapacitated
Because I remember when I was (from an injury) and omg life is so so SO different being ABLE!
Thank you thank you thank you!

And – thank you for much FOR that incapacitation.
Because it has added to my appreciation now.
It was so hard, and it cost me, and us : (  so much. But – I think it was necessary for ME to CHANGE.
Thank you thank you thank you!

With all my heart, thank you for not being alone all the time
Because I would be truly miserable if I were. I am alone too much a bit now, but not always, and never totally all the time indefinitely!
Thank you thank you thank you!

I am so incredibly fortunate and lucky and grateful for hope.
Because hope gets me through
Thank you thank you thank you!

I am so incredibly fortunate and lucky and grateful for my ability to sleep
Because I do not struggle with sleep! And it is necessary and it comes easily to me. I also remember when it didn’t.
Oh thank you thank you thank you, for sleep!

I so deeply appreciate that I have more cheerfulness!
Because life is happier this way!
Thank you thank you thank you!

Oh deeply and truly thank you for my ability to get to sort of “doing not doing” when at the piano.
Thank you thank you thank you!

And for my parents’ paying for all those lessons, and me and J later, and me since, I am so deeply grateful!
Thank you thank you thank you!

Thank you thank you thank you!

2. Remember The magic by counting the blessings of yesterday and writing them down. Ask yourself the question: What are the good things that happened yesterday? Scan the surface of yesterday until you feel satisfied that you’ve remembered and written down all the blessings of the day.
