I have been in that position, and it's the worst. Your insecurities are fed daily. And it brings out the worst in us, doesn't it? Because we try so hard to be something we aren't in the hope that it will turn somehow. Am reminded of the heartbreaking Bonnie Raitt song "I can't make you love me if you don't..." Sad, but true. Better to be alone than lonely with someone.
That works with all relationships, doesn't it?
